Equipment Post

 Within this blog post, I will be highlighting the equipment we used to shoot the film as well as the software we used to edit. 

    For the camera we used to film, we ended up deciding that it was best for us to use our group member Sofia's iPhone. When we first started filming, we had two other cameras we were also debating on using. The first was Sofia's GoPro, which is what we initially wanted to use. However, we quickly realized that we would not be able to use it since Sofia didn't have the proper setup to make the GoPro function how we wanted it to. Another camera we used before Sofia's phone was my other partner, Daniel, and his phone. Similarly, we stopped using his phone shortly after due to the picture quality on his device being not so great. Ultimately, we ended up using Sofia's phone due to it having decent sound quality with good enough picture quality.

    As for the editing software we used for our film, we are using iMovie. Just like with the process we went through with the cameras, it took us a little while before we ended up using this particular software. I searched the internet for the best editing software that I could find in order to piece together our film, but there are many problems that arose when I did so. For starters, many of the different software requires a subscription in order to have access to the entirety of their tools and to remove their watermark at the end when you export the file from your computer. Also, some of them are very complicated and require an intricate understanding of editing that, quite frankly, I do not possess. We landed on iMovie because it was the software that my partner Sofia already had on her computer and it was one that she said she was comfortable using and that she already had some experience using before. So far, it seems to be going well using this software, so we will continue to use it.
